Swim Across the Sound 2021
I am looking forward to being part of a relay for this year's Swim Across the Sound! I will be participating in a "Never Alone Relay" with 5 other swimmers. Teams in the Never Alone category have three (3) pairs of swimmers doing 1/2 hour legs representing that you are never alone when battling cancer. Each duo will take turns swimming until we complete the 15.5 mile swim across Long Island Sound.
For those unfamiliar with this event, it's a huge fundraiser run each year by St. Vincent's Hospital. We all know someone whose life has been affected by cancer, and this is why we are swimming. The funds raised by the SWIM do not support cancer research; rather the money goes towards cancer education, screening, and prevention programs. Money may also go towards helping individual cancer patients who need medical assistance, transportation to and from treatments, or even help purchasing wigs or prostheses.
Any amount, great or small, helps in the fight. We greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on our progress!
